Oneida County Health Department Car Seat Safety Check Event A Success

The Oneida County Health department, in collaboration with Safe Kids Worldwide, conducted a free car seat inspection event on Monday June 18, 2012 from 3-6 p.m. @ the Rhinelander Fire Department.  Thirteen car seats were checked for proper installation and 1 expired car seat was exchanged.  Education was provided to attendees.

For those who were unable to attend the car seat safety check event, individual appointments can be made through Oneida County Health Department @ 715-369-6111.  Ask to speak with a certified car seat technician for questions/concerns.

Results from safety seat checks have shown that 4 out of 5 car seats are used incorrectly.  Be sure yours is not one of them.   “We’re grateful that so many parents and caregivers took advantage of this event to help ensure that their children will be riding safely on every trip, every time,” said Dawn Van Den Heuvel,  Public Health Nurse and Certified Car Seat Technician.
